Pi Beta Phi has worked to support and empower our sisters since 1867. In the century and a half since, more than 300,000 women have proudly worn our golden arrow. Through a lifelong membership experience rooted in timeless values, we promote friendship, cultivate leadership potential and enrich lives through community service — ensuring each member has the support of sincere friends and the inspiration to achieve her goals.
Pi Phi is my home. There is no other way I can say it. The friendships and bonds I have found with the women in this chapter have become a sisterhood I know I can fall into whenever I need. They are my celebration parade when something amazing happens or my group of arms to run into after a tragedy. The sisters I now have will be in my life forever because they have made me who I am today.
I love Pi Phi because I am surrounded by women who push me to be the best version of myself. The people within this chapter challenge me, comfort me, support me, accept me and love me for who I am, every second of every day. As an upperclassman participating in recruitment, I was challenged to find my place and my people during this intense process. Although I did not know it at the time, Pi Phi would become such a foundational pillar to my experience at WSU. I was welcomed & wanted by women who saw value in me. I met kind, loyal and inspirational women who work toward their goals, and I admired that in this chapter. Choose people who choose you! This resonated with me during recruitment and it could not be more true to why I still choose Pi Phi to this day!
This organization helped me improve and develop a love for myself. Pi Phi became a blessing by surrounding me with positive influences in my life who supported me as I grew to be a better and stronger woman. This is truly why I have made it this far in my life. My experience led me to some of the best people and some of the best memories that I did not think were possible. I am proud of the woman Pi Phi shaped me to be and I will forever be grateful and love the wine and silver blue and all that comes with it.
Children’s literacy was always something I had been passionate about and the fact that Pi Phi helped so many kids in the Athens community as they learned to read was something I absolutely loved. With the literacy and mentorship programs, an annual book drive honoring our late sister Brittany Feldman, and funding an FDS500 grant for Books for Keeps, I was blown away by the amazing acts of service the women in this chapter were able to do!
